George Kottaras is a Major League Baseball veteran who has spent his career at the highest level of the game, and he’s bringing that experience back home to the GTA.
A true local success story, George grew up in the Greater Toronto Area and attended Milliken Mills High School in Markham before being drafted by the San Diego Padres. He went on to play seven seasons in Major League Baseball, suiting up behind the plate for the Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, and his hometown Toronto Blue Jays.
Reaching Major League Baseball is one of the most difficult accomplishments in all of sports. To not only reach that level, but to compete there for seven seasons, requires an exceptional combination of talent, dedication, discipline, resilience, and an unmatched commitment to the game.
As a Major League catcher, George was entrusted with one of the most demanding positions on the field. He had to perform under pressure, make split-second decisions, understand hitters and pitchers, lead from behind the plate, and consistently compete against the very best baseball players in the world.
Over the course of his career, George didn’t simply learn the game, he lived it at the highest level possible. Every pitch, every at-bat, every game, and every season added to a depth of baseball knowledge that very few instructors can offer.
Now, George is bringing that knowledge and experience back home to help develop the next generation of baseball players.
His goal is to give young athletes the opportunity to learn from someone who has actually reached the level they aspire to. Whether it’s developing their skills, improving their baseball IQ, understanding the mental side of the game, or learning what it takes to compete at a higher level, George brings a perspective shaped by years of experience in professional baseball.
