As a mom of a toddler who’s not in daycare, I know how exhausting it is chasing after him day after day. I wouldn’t trade my time with him for anything, but I’m always looking for new ways for my little guy to get some exercise and burn some of that excess energy during the day.
The more I spoke with other parents, the more I heard about how common this was. Parents across the GTA are looking for programming for toddlers that helps them stay active, learn new skills, and make new friends.
That’s why we’ve started L’il Ballers
We’ve built our L’il Ballers FUNdamentals program specifically for our littlest players, anywhere from 15 months to 3 years old. Now our future baseball superstars don’t have to wait until they are 5 to start baseball! We wanted to give both the little ones and their parents a place where they could form a special bond through creating a foundation for healthy, active living, and make new friends along the way. Our L’il Ballers will learn basic baseball skills that aim to help motor skill development, coordination and balance, while sparking a love for the game!
Personally I love going to music circles and storytime with my little guy, but it’s getting harder and harder now that he won’t sit still! Most kids at that age just want to run around and play, and we wanted to give them a fun way to do just that, with a baseball spin of course.
As adorable as it is to watch these little ones try to swing, we can’t let them do it alone. Kids enrolled in the program with need to have a parent, guardian or caregiver with them actively participating to help guide them. They also need to be walking/moving (it’s okay if they’re a little unsteady, we all are sometimes!).
T-Ball is great for the older kids but let’s face it, who wants to wait that long to play baseball? If you’ve got an older one already enrolled with Field of Dreams Baseball Camp, then this is a perfect way to let your younger one feel like they’re part of the team, too.
Think your little one might fall in love with the game? Sign up them up for the L’il Ballers FUNdamentals Toddler and Parent program today! We are starting a 4-week pilot program in Newmarket, which we hope will grow into different cities across the GTA in the future.
